I have been planning a new (hopefully interesting) addition to my blog with a new series of monthly blog interviews – the “iDea” series. The monthly iDea posts will feature interviews with prominent bloggers across a diverse range of subjects (e.g. web 2.0, word-of-mouth, etc…)
As I mentioned in my earlier post, I’ve had a chance to meet with bloggers from different fields (from Genealogy to web 2.0). Marketing impacts all of us and I know there are a lot of untold marketing best practices (e.g. web 2.0 tools) that I’d like to unearth via iDea.
Why is iDea different?:
i. Blogger-to-blogger (blogger community/marketing focus)
ii. 10 questions only (follow-up comments possible)
iii. 1 interview/month
How does iDea work?:
i. iDea interview details will be posted on the 1st day of every month on my blog. You can send in your questions to me (via email: vjmario@yahoo.com) over the first two weeks of the month.
ii. Final list of 10 questions will be consolidated and sent to the featured blogger.
iii. Interview will be posted on the last day of the month. It’s that simple.
iDea series’ Blogger of the month – July 2006
Without further ado, I’d like to introduce to you the 1st blogger to be featured on the iDea series, my good friend — Jeremiah Owyang.
As I often repeat, Jeremiah is one of the reasons I blog today. He is a Corporate Web Strategist and Business Blog Evangelist. He publishes his blog at “Web Strategy by Jeremiah“. (http://www.web-strategist.com/blog/).
You can get a better idea of Jeremiah’s areas of interest through the white paper he co-wrote on “How Business & I.T should work together to manage “web 2.0” tools“.
Next Steps:
i. So feel free to just email me (vjmario@yahoo.com) the questions you’d like to ask Jeremiah on all things web 2.0 & marketing.
ii. Last date for questions: July 14th, 2006 (Friday)
iii. Date I’ll publish the interview: July 31st, 2006 (Monday)
Jeremiah, thanks for agreeing to be featured on “iDea”. Are you ready?

Found your blog via the community builder – Mack!
Glad I did.
iDea sounds great.
Here is a possible question for Jeremiah: how does a business pick people to be the conversational voice for the company in the marketplace? Or do they pick “a person” at all?
Thanks for enlarging the conversation!

Hi Michael,
Thanks for dropping by. And more importantly, for the question. I’ll be consolidating all these for the podcast interview that I’ll publish by the end-of-month.
Just a clarification. Whom do you refer to as “a person”? Are you asking if it’d suffice to have the pr team of a business run a blog as the conversational voice?
Do clarify.
Thanks,
-Mario

[…] Many of you regular readers of the blog, may recall the iDea series that I announced a month ago. For the uninitiated, iDea is a concept series of interviews I’ve conceived as a bridge between bloggers (marketing and tech). It essentially is a set of 10 questions that I’d pose to a marketing influencer, and the resulting interview will be podcast the following Monday. I’ll be conducting the first interview this weekend, with Jeremiah Owyang – web strategist and author of the “Web Strategist” blog (Duh!). […]
